Juxtaposition

My music usually stems from ideas or concepts that I have whilst I am in the bath or on a train or just sitting there staring into space. For example, I muse to myself wouldn’t it be fun to marry the opposing forces of soul music and some insane electronic/robotic football hooligan chanting… we have all had that thought that from time to time, right? Or is it just me? Now you understand where I am coming from.

Inner workings

Most of the melodic (and some not so melodic) sounds you will hear are played by myself on electronic and acoustic instruments.This is because I prefer to relate to music physically and emotionally i.e. I want to experience the tactile pleasure of creating a musical experience using my hands. This music imparts to the listener a taste of my life experiences and how my creative mind operates. Programming on a computer using MIDI just does not do that for me.

Relativism

We are all influenced to a greater or lesser extent by the prevailing culture and so our creative output is undeniably a mixture of our own ideas and the ideas of others, past and present. This of course begs the question ‘what is originality’ and ultimately ‘what is truth?’ the answer is of course…its all relative Auntie
