0.2: Say yes, say you are a cool dude

So, album number two builds on the style, technique and eclectic nature of Psychic Pus. Juxtaposition is an evident theme on this album for example, track five ‘Mutant Decision’ merges the voice of JFK with a punk rock driven backing riff and then on track two ‘Hancock’s Half Hour’ I employ humpbacked whales who sing backing as the oceanic funk-a-thon unfolds.

My home built Theremin and antique analogue synths are used liberally here and and if you like to hear mad American hellfire preachers then track eight ‘world war five’ is for you.

Review

'Say Yes' is somewhere between thrash house and accessible cut-n-paste, with some of the loops out of his old Nan's attic. The standout track is 'Piss in Your Time', propelled by a rolling, velvety guitar with a characteristic let-off-steam MS20 solo - it's something to do with the invasion of Grenada, an event that J Dexter naturally deprecates as a Bad Thing... This album has seen him compared to the likes of Royksopp, possibly meeting Slim Gaillard in a portable toilet.
